Turning off Borders

Setting Image Border Default to Zero

By default, when you place an image in GoLive and make it a link or an image map, you get an annoying blue border around your image. Any sensible designer will turn these borders off unless they complement the design of his/her page. The problem is that 99.99% of the time, not only do the blue borders not compliment the site's design, they CLASH horribly with the other elements.

Thankfully, the wonderful creators of GoLive have made it impressively customizable, through the GoLive Web Database. To open it, select Web Database from the Special menu or hit Command-4. Click on the HTML Tab, and in the WebDB Inspector make sure that the View is set to Flat.

Scroll down until you see the img tag, then click on the arrow to its left. You should be presented with all the img tag attributes included in the Web Database. Find the border attribute, and click on it. You will be offered the following options:

Make sure Create this attribute is checked, and the 0 is typed into the Value field. Now every time you place an image, the border attribute will be created automatically!
